Tri Delta and St. Jude
Delta Delta Delta Fraternity just announced a 10-year, $60 million fundraising
commitment in support of its national philanthropic partner, St. Jude Children's Research
Hospital. In honor of this commitment - the largest single pledge in St Jude's history - the Fraternity will receive prominent recognition on the hospital's campus. Beginning July 7, the short-term housing facility
adjacent to the hospital will be named Tri Delta Place.
When families arrive at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital for treatment, they don't have to worry about finding a place to stay. St. Jude provides free housing in three locations, and Tri Delta Place will be home to patients and families who are visiting the hospital for eight days or less. The five-story building can house 100 families and has 64 hotel-style rooms and 36 suites.
"Tri Delta becomes a home away from home for its members during their collegiate years, so it's fitting that we're being recognized in this way. Tri Delta Place provides a home for the families and kids of St. Jude at an incredibly challenging time," said Fraternity President Phyllis Durbin Grissom, Southern Methodist. "We are honored to be able to support St Jude's mission in such a meaningful way and humbled by this level of recognition."

The Ottawa Alumnae Chapter supports St. Jude Children's Research Hospital by attending and providing aid to collegiate philanthropic initiatives as well as organizing independent fundraising efforts. This year we will be increasing our support of St Jude by fundraising during our 20th Anniversary Celebration!

A Visit to St. Jude
In February 2014, OAC President Lindsey Thomson had the opportunity to visit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Though the visit only lasted a short weekend, Lindsey had the opportunity to tour the welcoming and child friendly hospital, meet with fellow Tri Delta sisters, and attend philanthropy brainstorming sessions with Alumnae from across North America.
"I never thought that I would have the privilege of visiting the renown St. Jude! I feel incredibly fortunate and blessed to have experienced first-hand all the hard work and dedication that Tri Delta sisters have put in over the years to support the hospital. St. Jude is truly unique in that it does not even feel like a hospital. There are wall-to-wall murals in bright colours and images, and the various patient and waiting rooms help to make children feel right at home. This visit deepened my passion and commitment for St. Jude and I am excited to implement the various fundraising ideas and techniques that I learned over the weekend. St. Jude is a leader in its field and I am proud to call myself a Tri Delta sister and a supportive member of this incredible institution." Lindsey Thomson, Ottawa Alumnae Chapter President, 2013-2014
